MENTON
Menton lies between Monaco and Italy and close to the Italian border. The nearest town on the Italian side is Ventimiglia. Menton was extremely popular by the english around 1900, and they built more magnificent hotels in the city. Today most of these hotels have been converted to apartments. Musée Jean Cocteau is a must to visit, when you are in town.
A nice path has been made along the coastline from Menton, via Cap Martin and Roquebrune, to Monaco. A hike from Menton to Monaco takes about 2 - 3 hours.
In Menton there are many beautifull gardens to visit as Vel FRahmeh and Serre de la Madone.
